How are Pomegranates Processed
Pomegranate Sorting and Washing
1. Fruit sorting machine is used to remove diseased, rotten and immature pomegranates. Pomegranate sorting is a necessary step to ensure the quality of the pomegranate juice.
2. Roller-Type Fruit Sorting Machine can handle various round or oval fruits, including apples, oranges, peaches, apricots, lemons, mangos, pomegranates, etc. The fruit sorting machine is equipped with a speed adjustment device. The ground-type oil guide pipe ensures the hygienic conditions of fruit sorting.
3. In the process of picking and transportation, pomegranates will inevitably be stained with dust or pesticides, therefore, they need to be cleaned thoroughly with a special fruit washing machine. Peeling and Deseeding
1. The pomegranate skin is thick and bitter. If squeezed whole, they will spoil the flavor. Therefore, it is necessary to remove the peel before juicing.
2. The special pomegranate peeling machine consists of a hopper, a crusher, a separating drum and a drive system. The washed fruits are sent to the hopper through the conveyor belt and then broken into 4 pieces by the crusher. After that, the skin and seeds are separated in the separation drum.

Pomegranate Juice Extraction
Pomegranate seeds enter through the hopper and were rotated and pushed by a screw roller. The materials were moved forward by screw bearing, as the spiral cavity gradually shrinks, the materials were squeezed. The squeezed juice flow into the container through the filter, the waste was discharged through the gap between the spiral and cone segments.
Pomegranate Juice Clarification
The pomegranate juice from the press is pasteurized and then pumped to a treatment tank where enzymes and chemicals are added to increase the degree of separation. The treatment lasts 3 to 4 hours. After processing, the juice is sent to the ultrafiltration line for clarification.
